- Audible's Free Audiobooks, for when you're sick of screens and just want someone ELSE to read to you.
- Project Gutenberg: a free source of copyright-free ebooks. If you have a craving for the classics, this site is your best bet.
- Amazon's Teen and Young Adult Kindle books: You may not be able to have a credit card or Kindle, but gift cards and the Kindle app on your phone/ tablet/ laptop are just as good. They also have free Young Adult books available here. However, what THEY consider as "Young Adult" is debatable, so be careful with the books you choose to get.
- NovelUpdates: a database of light novels that are being or have been translated into English from Mandarin, Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese. It’s a great option if you’re already into Asian entertainment, or curious about it. Just make sure you pay attention to the tags on each book's page: they tell you what kind of content it has so you can choose things you like- and avoid those you don’t. You can also check Miss Garnett's collection of Asian entertainment for some titles in various genres I think you might enjoy.
- Comixology and Webtoons are great resources if you like to read graphic novels. Both sites have free graphic novels: the difference between them is that Comixology focuses more on graphic novels by companies such as Marvel or DC, and Webtoons is more about finding new artists. In addition, Comixology only has some of its content free- the others you have to buy. Webtoons has free reading, but you pay if you want the most recent chapters as soon as they are uploaded. Our collection of Asian Entertainment includes some titles on Webtoons to get you started.
